TTTONLF Meets…Samuel Collyer (Oxford City Analyst + Content Creator)

Published on

Welcome back to another TTTONLF meets, we are sitting down with Oxford City Analyst Samuel Collyer alongside that, Sam also produces Non-league Content for this social media channel, some of which we will highlight below.

I am a personal fan of the work Sam is doing and I have every faith that come the end of this interview you will see why and also become a future fan yourself!

Shall we…

Name – Samuel Collyer

Age – 20

Favourite team – Woking FC

Occupation – Non-League Football content creator/analyst

Thing I love – sense of community around a football club

Pet hate – linesman’s delaying putting the flag up even when VAR isn’t in use 😅

Me and my dad going to watch woking on the opening day of the season, it was away to Sutton and we won 5-0, from that point onwards I will was hooked

Originally it begun just giving my opinion online about Woking, and I always really liked the tactical side of the game so it slowly stemmed into creating tactical analysis content and threads

I’ve always enjoyed breaking down the tactical side of football, and the in depth side of the game that is utilised to give teams the slightest of advantages

I wouldn’t say it frustrates me as i know eventually everything will work out for the best, but I do find it funny at times, and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion which I respect

Recently being invited down to DAZN studios to shoot some content with them, meeting John Terry whilst down there.

I like to do tactical breakdowns and analysis of certain players and teams in the National League on my X account

It feels amazing honestly, compliments and appreciation for what you do is what makes it all worth while so to see that something I create is enjoyed by others is a really good feeling

The pod was a great experience, I really enjoyed speaking to Marc who was very complimentary, and rich as well, as I’m a huge fan of his work and watch every episode of the docuseries he makes.

One day working on something with Ellis Platten would be quiet cool and a new experience, albeit optimistic, and potentially doing some work for Woking too as Thats a personal dream of mine

It means everything to me, I grew up from the age of six going with my dad and grandad, and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. The sense of community and enjoyment I get from watching non league is like nothing else!

In terms of tools to aspire, it’s hard to pick something specific, I promise this isn’t an ad but paying £4 a month for twitter premium took my work to another level, as it allowed me to write more words on analysis threads and go into more depth

Released today – here is Sam’s latest piece on Ebbsfleet Recruitment for next season an extremely detailed 20 page breakdown

Dream club would be Woking, would be a childhood dream of mine to play even a small part in helping them get to the EFL for the first time!

Getting praised for work is what makes it all worth while, the feeling never gets old, it’s what really keeps me going and pushes me to be better at what I do

One thing I’d like improved is more of a rule, and that’s the 3 promotion spots into the EFL, the quality trapped in this division is insane given how tough it is to get promoted

Until next time!
